Proper winterization of your pump station

The best way to insure a smooth start-up of your irrigation pumps in the spring is to winterize them properly.
  • Be sure to drain water from ALL of the piping and pump components.
  • Verify that your tank has the proper pressure in it.
  • Drain your suction line, if applicable.
  • Verify that you have good, consistent incoming power.
  • Remove your pressure transducer to prevent freezing.
  • If you have a Cla-Valve (or similar) crack the top portion of the valve off from the base.
  • Make a list of anything that needs repairing, so that you can budget these repairs before spring arrives.
